HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS TRAINING (HEAT)
Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) prepares personnel travelling to, or operating within, remote and challenging environments. This course combines comprehensive theoretical instruction with practical scenario-based training, delivering both generic safety procedures and country-specific guidance.
Description
Participants will have the opportunity to apply theory in realistic scenarios and structured assessments. On completion of the course, individuals will be able to recognise and mitigate threats to their safety and security, enabling them to operate effectively and with confidence across a variety of environments.

COURSE DURATION
Iqarus offers two HEAT training solutions tailored to meet specific client requirements:
2-Day Introductory Course
Designed for personnel deploying to areas assessed as low risk, this course provides the fundamental principles of risk assessment and mitigation.
Participants gain essential knowledge in situational awareness, personal security, and basic hostile environment safety procedures, equipping them with the confidence to operate safely in lower-threat environments.
5-Day Advanced Course
Designed for personnel deploying to areas of known or significant threat, this comprehensive course provides extensive theoretical instruction and immersive practical training across the full spectrum of potential hazards.
Learners gain hands-on experience in recognising, mitigating, and managing threats arising from hostile activity, environmental risks, and CBRN hazards through realistic scenario-based exercises and guided discussion.
As with all HEAT programmes, the curriculum remains dynamic and adaptable to emerging threats and specific client requirements.
